Installing Speechbolt (Android)

Install the Speechbolt Android beta from the Firebase App Distribution email ([email protected]). Includes steps for installing Firebase App Tester and enabling ‘Allow restricted settings’ if Android blocks permissions.

1) Look for your invite email

You’ll receive an install email from:

Speechbolt (via Firebase App Distribution)

[email protected]

Open the email and tap Download (or Install) to get the latest build.

2) Optional: install Firebase App Tester (recommended)

The invite email also includes a link to Firebase App Tester. Installing it makes it easier to:

  • get update notifications

  • install new builds faster
    ​

3) If Android blocks permissions (“restricted settings”)

Some Android versions require enabling “restricted settings” for apps installed outside the Play Store.

On the Speechbolt app screen:

  • Tap the 3-dot menu (top right)

  • Select Allow restricted settings

See the 3 dots on the top right corner

Click on it and "Allow restricted settings."

Select "Speechbolt" as the default phone app.
