Updated over 2 months ago

Use the settings below to ensure Speechbolt can screen unknown callers and work reliably on iPhone.

Recommended iPhone settings

Wi-Fi Calling

Turn OFF

Some call screening behaviors can be inconsistent with Wi-Fi Calling enabled.

  • Go to Settings → Phone → Wi-Fi Calling

  • Toggle Wi-Fi Calling OFF

Silence Unknown Callers

Turn OFF

  • Go to Settings → Phone → Silence Unknown Callers

  • Toggle OFF

Call Blocking & Identification

Keep Speechbolt enabled, and disable Apple’s “Silence Junk Callers” (if available).

  • Go to Settings → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification

  • Ensure Speechbolt is ON

  • If you see Silence Junk Callers, toggle it OFF

Blocked Contacts

Clear any numbers you previously blocked (optional but recommended)

If you already use Speechbolt, keeping Apple’s blocked list empty prevents confusion about what is blocking a call.

  • Go to Settings → Phone → Blocked Contacts

  • Remove any blocked numbers you no longer want blocked

SMS/Call Reporting (if shown on your device)

Set to None (unless you’re using Speechbolt for reporting).

  • Go to Settings → Phone → SMS/Call Reporting

  • Select None

Turn off Live Voicemail (required)

Live Voicemail must be OFF for Speechbolt to screen unknown calls and show you who’s calling and why.

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Tap Phone

  3. Tap Live Voicemail

  4. Toggle Live Voicemail OFF
